If you've been struggling for a long time, it may be because
Your protocol isn't long enough. Depending on the severity, it can take a minimum of 3 months, up to 6 months in more severe cases.
You may be using the wrong combination of herbs. Unfortunately what works for your friend, might not work for you. No one has the same bacterial overgrowth so no two people will have the same protocol.
You're using the wrong probiotics at the wrong time. This is something I see happening frequently. If you add in a ton of probiotics too early, you're only adding to the overgrowth problem. Excess bacteria needs to be removed first before piling on the probiotics.
Now this is what I see the most neglected. You are thinking you only have a bacteria problem- and not a parasite problem. Parasites poop in your body and release incredibly toxic chemicals like formaldehyde, histamine and ammonia. Pay close attention if your symptoms become worse around the full or new moon.
Adhesions or structural blockages are more rare, but they still may be an issue for you. Regular abdominal massage and castor oil packs are amazing to help soothe and lubricate the digestive tract.
Here's another big one, you're cutting all the carbs all the time! How will your body learn how to properly assimilate carbs if you're cutting them for months at a time, and then reintroduce when you stop taking supplements? Healthy carbs are also essential to consuming fiber, which are the building blocks for a healthy microbiome.
Lastly, you WILL NOT detox if you are constantly stressed, aka in a sympathetic dominant state! Daily practices of stress relief are essential to putting your body in a state where it can prioritize getting rid of toxins rather than holding onto toxic fat cells.
Other reasons you may still have SIBO?
You actually have SIFO (fungal overgrowth) and/or mold toxicity. Mycotoxins are extremely toxic & release substances in the body that can mimic SIBO symptoms.
You have slow motility. Keep those bowels moving with coffee enemas, colonics, castor oil packs and prokinetics if possible.
Your migrating motor complex is MIA. This is a result of sympathetic dominance & eating too frequently. Building up to regular practices or intermittent or more prolonged fasting is the best way to get your migrating motor complex moving again. The MMC is your intestines clean up crew which only goes to work when your body is not digesting food.
