The Dangers of Ascorbic Acid
Learning about the dangers of artificial vitamin C was a tough pill for me to swallow since it was something I had been consuming daily for some time. But, part of constantly educating yourself requires you to stay open to the possibilities that you don't know everything & that what you might be currently doing isn't actually the best for your health.
Ascorbic acid is the synthetic form of vitamin C (made in a lab) typically derived from GMO corn - less than ideal.
In nature, there is no such thing as isolated vitamins or minerals because they work synergistically within the body. So when we take anything in isolation, it might look like your raising levels of one vitamin but what you don't see is the depletion of several others.
That's the case with synthetic vitamin C - when taken in isolation in high doses, it depletes copper, zinc, manganese, sulfur & calcium, while also increasing the absorption of iron which can be dangerous for many.
A depletion of copper can actually inhibit some immune responses like white blood cell production, wound healing & proper mitochondrial function.
So what to choose instead? Whole food forms of vitamin C

🔸Camu Camu
🔸Mulberries
🔸Acerola Cherry
🔸Amla
